Building and maintaining an eCommerce site is a lot more complicated than a normal website. A shopping cart solution must be selected and set up, merchant accounts have to be integrated, shipping modules must be configured, and a layout has to be created and coded. Last, but definitely not least: choosing a good host for your eCommerce site is perhaps the most important decision. There are many hosting services out there that bill themselves as "eCommerce friendly," but then fail to deliver when it matters. You need to know if your host's PHP and SQL versions are compatible.

Sound a little overwhelming? We agree. It was for us our first time too. Fortunately, we now have years of experience in eTail and eCommerce and are happy to provide consulting for new online stores. The online marketplace is very liberating. Housing inventory is a snap and -- with the proper configuration -- order processing is not much more difficult.
